Using Helper Resources and a Demo Lesson (June 16, 2021)

 This lesson takes Consultants through using Helper Resources to access a patron's account, use the various view of the fan chart to pick a place to explore and find new people to add to the patron's pedigree, and save the lesson in the lesson planner in Resources.  The demo is an actual lesson planned for a patron. This is the third of five lessons designed for beginning Consultants. Merges, Merges, Merges (June 2, 2021)

 Merges, Merges, Merges is a lesson that discusses the best practices in determining if possible matches in the FamilySearch Family Tree need to be merged.  Real examples of merges that should and shouldn't be completed will be shown along with the reasoning used to determine what to do.  The lesson will also explore the concept of orphaned ordinances due to incorrect merging practices. Planning a One-on-One Lesson and a Way to Find Names in Tree (May 19, 2021)

 This lesson discusses the process that FamilySearch suggests consultants use to plan a lesson for their patron.  In addition the second half of the lesson discusses a process that can be used to locate where descendants can be found and added to a patron's tree.  This lesson is very applicable to new consultants who are just beginning to learn their calling. Using Record Images at FamilySearch (May 5, 2021)

This presentation introduces the process FamilySearch uses to bring it's digital images online for the public to view.  It covers the various ways images are presented to the public and especially describes the new search engine used to locate images that are not found in the Family History Library Catalog. This presentation unlocks the way to view billions of unindexed records at FamilySearch. Using the FamilySearch Wiki (January 6, 2021)

Growing Your Pedigree with a Tree at Ancestry (Sept 2, 2020)

This presentation presents proven techniques for growing your tree at FamilySearch by first developing it in a tree at Ancestry.com and then using the syncing tools available to members of the LDS church that allow them to transfer data between their tree at Ancestry and the FamilySearch Family Tree.  The Fresno California North Stake is located in the San Joaquin Valley of California half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco.  We have been decicated for many years to training our Family History Center staff and Ward Temple and Family History Consultants.
