Build Your FamilySearch Tree with Ancestry's Help (October 11, 2023)

Image
This topic is "Build Your FamilySearch Tree with Ancestry's Help."  We have all been frustrated at times when growing our tree at FamilySearch.  Sometimes we just need some help to help keep our research moving forward.  This is where Ancestry can often come in handy.   Come and learn some tips on how to use Ancestry and FamilySearch together to help extend your pedigree. This class will teach you how to find information at Ancestry.com that can be added to the FamilySeardh Tree.  It will demonstrate a way, using a program called RecordSeek, that you can create a FamilySearch source for these records at Ancestry. FamilySearch Memory Lane and Preserving your Memories (September 23, 2023)

Image
Our class this week was a virtual field trip to Memory Lane at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake.  This presentation will highlight the exciting memories digitization program they have developed there.  We will take you there and show you all the equipment they have to assist patrons that allows them to digitize just about anything your family might have. How does this relate to us?  First of all - it will open your eyes to just what media FamilySearch can digitize for free.  As consultants this can be valuable knowledge to have as you work with your patrons.  We will also discuss where else you can go to get this kind of help and how you might begin to repurpose your local FamilySearch Center into a miniature Memory Lane.
