Descendancy View Research at FamilySearch (July 26, 2023)

Have you ever felt frustrated when doing descendancy research? Growing your pedigree isn't complex as you have a finite number of ancestors. They are easy to see on most any form or pedigree chart (landscape, photo, and fan chart). But to trace down the descendants of an ancestor can be a little like going down a rabbit hole. Depending on how far back in your tree the starting person is, there can be literally thousands and even millions of descendants. How do you navigate this and not go crazy or get lost in the maze of descendants? The descendancy view of your family on FamilySearch is designed to help you with this problem. This lesson will explain how this chart works and will demonstrate how to use it to find new descendants and improve the records of the ones that are already there.  (Please note this was a presentation updated from last year except I failed to update the first slide.)
