New Consultant Quandary - What to teach? (May 27, 2026)

 

This class explores all the different types of topics and resources you can teach to patrons.  We will start by considering the capabilities of the patron, the devices you can teach from, some selected topics you might want to address and the wealth of programs, campaigns, third party products and apps that can be used to assist your patron in learning about their family.  This class is designed to introduce many of the available resources so consultants can see the wealth of tools that are at their disposal.

Temple Ordinance Opportunities appears to be part of a wide-spread initiative the Church is conducting in providing multiple ways to interest and encourage members to become engaged in taking their own family members to the temple. This tool is still in the exploratory phase but shows a lot of promise in helping patrons find relatives to submit by going to their fan chart and choosing a line to explore for people with green temples or the yellow temples (meaning more information is needed.)  Come join us and learn where to find this tool and how to best use it.  The Fresno California North Stake is located in the San Joaquin Valley of California half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco.  We have been decicated for many years to training our Family History Center staff and Ward Temple and Family History Consultants. The Newly Clarified Temple Submission Policy (January 8, 2025)

 FamilySearch made some significant changes to the temple submission program and it is wise that we spend some time right at the start of the year reviewing this.  Some of you have probably already studied this but there will be others that are not even aware of these changes. Since these changes can impact every user that submits names to the temple is it important that we know these policies for our own use and for the benefit of all we work with.
